FRED S. ENGLE MIDDLE SCHOOL BOOK FAIR

Book Fair is right around the corner! Students will be visiting the Book Fair with their language arts classes on Tuesday, November 14th through Thursday, November 16th.  We have partnered with Scholastic Books this year, so look for a great selection for readers of all levels and interests.  The Fair will also be open evening hours during Parent-Teacher Conferences on Tuesday, November 14th and Thursday November 16th from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. We hope you will support your readers and Fred S. Engle!

Box Tops - Start sending them in!

Have you been saving those Box Tops over the summer? It's time to send them in! The collection deadline for our first contest is coming up soon-October 20th! The 7th & 8th grade class with the most Box Tops wins a special prize! And please remember to check the expiration dates on your Box Tops; it saves our awesome chairpeople a lot of time and effort. Welcome Back! 
 
We hope everyone has had a great start to the school year! Now are you ready to show some AG pride?  New for this year, the Fred S. Engle Middle School PTO is offering Spirit Wear! We have a lot of items to choose from: t-shirts and shorts to car flags and duffle bags.  Ordering is easy! Click on the link:  https://shop.fancloth.com/19390/294511 .  Take a look at all the items-there’s a magnifying feature to give you a better view. Then, enter your student’s name in Step 1 and their team name (7A, 7B, etc.)  in step 2 under Recipient. 

If you would prefer not to order and pay online, there are paper order forms available in the office if you would like to write a check (made payable to "FSEMS PTO").

The sale runs until September 23, 2017.  All orders will be delivered to the students homeroom the middle of October.

Transition Camp for incoming 7th Grader Students will be Wednesday, August 16 and Thursday, August 17.

PowerSchool available for parents/students: August 18, 2017
    PowerSchool and Schoology parent access codes will be emailed home via Secure Document Delivery. Please be on the lookout for the email.

    Homeroom Postings: August 18 after 4:00 pm (Main lobby & Gym lobby windows)

    The first day of school for students will be Monday, August 28th

    Back-to-School Night:  Tuesday, August 29 from 6 - 8 PM 

    FSEMS PTO's First Meeting will be on Tuesday, September 19 at 9 AM.

    Transition Camp at Engle Middle School - August 16 or August 17

    This is our first annual transition camp on August 16 or August 17 from 8:30-12:30.  At this event, you will get to know FSEMS by moving through four stations (Locker and Homeroom, Building Tour/Scavenger Hunt, Technology/Schoology, and Team Building) that will get you ready for your first day at FSEMS. Your day will conclude with a picnic lunch.

    At 10:30 AM each day of the camp, we will host an informational meeting for your parents regarding the AGSD 1:1 Technology Initiative.  At the meeting, your parents will have the option of paying the $50 Chromebook insurance fee to allow you to take your Chromebook home during the school year, as well as the option of purchasing accessories for the Chromebook.  Following this meeting, your parents are welcome to have lunch with you.

    Timeline of events (Same for 8/16 & 8/17):

    • 8:15 - 8:30: Student drop-off in cafeteria
    • 8:30 - 9:00: Welcome/Opening
    • 9:00 - 11:20: Transition Camp
    • 10:30 - 11:00: Parent 1:1 Meeting in Cafe
    • 11:30 - 12:30: Picnic Lunch for students (and parents, if they wish to join)

    Parents/Guardians please note: There is a cost if your child chooses to attend this event.  Students attending will be charged $20.00, which includes their lunch.  Checks should be made payable to “FSEMS PTO”.  Please note your son or daughter’s name on the memo line.  Cash or checks can be dropped at the FSEMS Main Office Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 3:30 PM throughout the summer.

    Queiros Padres, Guardianes y Estudiantes:

    ¡Espero que todos hagan tenido un excelente 4 y estén disfrutando este verano! Solo quería mandar un recordatorio de nuestro primer campamento de transición este agosto 16 o agosto 17 de las 8:30-12:30. En este evento, conocerás a FSEMS a través de cuatro estaciones (Casilleros y Homeroom, Recorrer el Edificio/Scavenger Hunt, Technology/Schoology y Los Equipos del Edificio) para ayudarlos a preparase para su primer día en FSEMS. El día concluirá con un picnic lunch.

    A las 10:30AM  cada día del campamento, tendremos una reunión informativa para padres con respecto a 1:1 Technology Initiative en AGSD. En la reunión, tiene la opción de pagar la cuota de seguro del Chromebook de $50 para permitir que su hijo/a pueda llevarse el Chromebook a casa durante el año escolar, también tendrá la opción de comprar accesorios. Después de la reunión, los padres pueden acompañar a su hija/o al almuerzo.

    Cronología de los eventos (8/16 y 8/17):
